Creative Industries Academy – Performance Competition - April 2024 – June 2024
Terms and Conditions:
This competition is only open to current students of Fairstead House School.
By entering this competition an entrant and their parents/guardians are indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
SAFEGUARDING:
Creative Industries Academy utilises various Google Apps, including Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Sites, to manage this competition.
When registering for the competition, parents/guardians must use their own personal email address. Email addresses of any children under the age of 18 should not be used for registration and will be disqualified.
Upon registration, Creative Industries Academy will create an individualised folder for each entrant in the Creative Industries Academy Google Drive space. This folder will be named after the email address provided on the registration form.
A shareable link will be generated through Gmail and Google Drive, providing access to the individualised folder. This link will be sent directly to the email address provided during registration.
Important Information:
Recording of the performance and uploading entries must be completed by parents/guardians.
To ensure the safeguarding of their child, parents/guardians must not share any individualised links or emails provided via Google Drive and Gmail with anyone.
Content Guidelines:
Entries must adhere to appropriate content standards. Avoid explicit language, violence, or sensitive topics that may be inappropriate for all audiences.
Copyright and Ownership:
By submitting an entry, participants grant Creative Industries Academy the right to use their performance and written work for promotional purposes.
Eligibility Criteria:
The competition is open to all students who are currently attending Fairstead House School.
Entry Fee:
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
Entries:
No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
Judging Criteria & Judge:
Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, performance quality, adherence to the chosen theme, and any additional criteria specified by the judges. Winners will be chosen by the director of Creative Industries Academy.
Prizes:
The prizes are as follows:-
1. 1ST prize - £25 Amazon gift card and 50% off your next termly enrolment fee with Creative Industries Academy
2. 2nd prize - £15 Amazon gift card and 25% off your next termly enrolment fee with Creative Industries Academy
3. 3rd prize - £10 Amazon gift card and 15% off your next termly enrolment fee with Creative Industries Academy
The prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
Winners:
The winners will be notified by email and announced at Fairstead House School Assembly within 28 days of the closing date. The winner will only ever be contacted by the director of Creative Industries Academy. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner. Creative Industries Academy will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected/is delivered.
Disqualification Criteria:
Participants may be disqualified for plagiarism, cheating, violation of competition rules, or any other actions deemed inappropriate by Creative Industries Academy.
Decisions:
Creative Industries Academy’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Appeals Process:
Participants may contest judging decisions or report concerns about other participants by contacting the director at creativeindustriesacademy@gmail.com. Please include the phrase 'Competition Appeal' in the subject line. All appeals will be reviewed by the director of Creative Industries Academy.

Privacy Policy:

Indemnification:
Participants indemnify and hold harmless Creative Industries Academy, its affiliates, and partners from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation in the competition.
Modification or Cancellation:
Creative Industries Academy reserves the right to modify, extend, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time, with or without notice, due to unforeseen circumstances or any other reasons deemed necessary by the organisers.
Force Majeure:
Creative Industries Academy shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under the competition due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, or government actions.
Governing Law:
The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
Severability:
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement:
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between participants and Creative Industries Academy regarding the competition, superseding any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
Your monologue or poem must be original – you must have written it yourself.
A parent/guardian must submit both a written copy (as a PDF file) and footage of your performance to be entered into the competition.
You are entitled to make a maximum of two entries but each entry must be different and in a different format - either a poem or monologue. You may not enter two monologues or two poems.
Parents/Guardians must only submit video footage filmed for the purpose of this competition. Remember, you must ‘slate’ at the beginning as mentioned in the ‘edit’ section.
Submissions made after midnight on Sunday 2nd June will not be accepted.
Your performance must not exceed 1 minute (60 seconds).
Winners will be announced on Friday 7th June 2024 and prizes will be issued within 28 days of the winners being announced.
The winners’ names will be available 28 days after the closing date by emailing the following address: creativeindustriesacademy@gmail.com. Please include the phrase Performance Competition Winner Request in the subject line.
